In addition to printing + house sketching, this weekend is Em’s first dance recital. I’m really looking forward to it. Here’s a pic from her dress rehearsal yesterday. Little three year olds in fluffy, sparkly, matching dresses? Love.
I never planned on putting her in dancing so early. I thought I’d enroll her around age 4 or 5, the same age I was when I enrolled as a little girl. But, thanks to Angelina Ballerina, Em started doing dance moves around the house and knew some dance lingo. So, at 2.5 years old, we placed her in a combo ballet + tap class. I’m so happy we did. She really loves it and has made a few friends!
Yesterday, Kacey used this recipe to make bubbles for Em when we ran out of solution. I was skeptical, but they were amazing! Truly. Big, long-lasting + colorful bubbles. We used both a big wand and an automatic bubble blower. Both worked great. I was most impressed with the bubble blower. With regular solution, we’ve only been able to get it to produce consistently small bubbles. With the homemade recipe, it made big monstrous, stacking bubbles. Em had a blast popping them!
We recently completed these custom house sketch moving announcements [on double thick paper] and a 5″ x 7″ letterpress print that’s perfect for framing. Congratulations Scott, Courtney + Audrey on your beautiful new home!
Last year, we posted free DIY handprint cards on Hellobee for Father’s Day and Mother’s Day. Since then, we’ve received lots of requests for a younger version from those of you with children saying Dada + Mama instead. So here they are! A “Happy Dada Day” and a “Happy Mama Day” card. Just print each out onto card stock. Then, using the crop marks as guides, cut out the cards. Stamp or trace your kiddo’s hand. Finally, place each inside an A2 size envelope. And you’re done. Enjoy!
