Last year, a sweet little boy named Lawson turned one. To celebrate, Lawson’s parents threw him a party inspired by Curious George. His mother, Jeanie, contacted us to design + letterpress print his birthday invitation.

She loved the invitations we designed + printed for our little Em and wanted something similar in the style of his party. His party was not just Curious George but a vintage take on the classic stories. Rustic red, pale blue, navy and a cheerful yellow made up the party’s color palette.

Like Em’s “year of firsts” certificate, Lawson’s first year achievements were highlighted. His foot + hand print were letterpress printed true to size. At birth he was a tiny fellow, and his feet were only 1 3/4 inches long.
Did you notice what his first food was? Bananas! I got a good chuckle out of that.

We made the “year of firsts” card a different size from the actual invite and bound them together with yellow twine. And finally, a two color, letterpress printed, wraparound mailing label was affixed to each pale blue, open ended #10 envelope.
Happy birthday Curious Lawson! We hope you went bananas and had more fun than a barrel of monkeys at your party!

I love office supplies. From different types of pens to colorful tape and everything in between. I especially love unconventional office supplies. So, I thought I’d share with you some of my unconventional favorites and how + why I like to use them.
Like my pinking shears. Lately, I’ve been getting lots of use of out of them. Originally intended for cutting fabric to reduce fraying, these specialty scissors create a nice zig zag pattern. I use them to dress up tags, envelopes and washi tape. I recently used them to cut down extra long glassine bags. They can be used on all sorts of things, and I often reach for them instead of standard scissors. I love the extra oomph they give to straight edges.

We’ve gotten several requests + questions about the banner I designed + hung up for Em’s birthday party last year. Good news! On Hellobee, you can find a pink version and a blue version to download. The banner simply reads “Happy Birthday” and I’ve included super easy instructions, too. Enjoy!

After seeing the invitation we designed + printed for Em’s baptism, Violet’s mother contacted us about ordering invites for her daughter’s baptism. Normally, we do not replicate a custom design for other clients. However, since this was designed for our daughter, we decided to modify the design slightly and accomodate her request. This is the outcome. Still elegant + beautiful.
We loved the design so much that we contacted her about offering the design to future clients. She gave us her blessing, so we’ll be updating our shop soon to include them! In the meantime, you can contact us if you are interested in placing an order for them.
Update // They are available for purchase here. You can order them in either pink or blue.

1 / This weekend, Christmas decorations finally all came down + Mardi Gras decor went up. I love the carnival season! Bring on the king cakes + Mardi Gras balls!
2 / Saturday, we drove out to College Station. Kacey and his brother did the ride + drive experience at the Texas World Speedway. We gifted the experiences to them last year for Valentine’s Day. They both are into Formula 1 so they loved this! I’m so glad they enjoyed it.
3 / Em loves her new pink train set. She played with it all weekend. Thanks Granbie + Skipper!
How was your weekend? Do anything fun?

After our lunch at Gott’s, we headed to Castello di Amorosa to see their beautiful vineyard and Tuscan style castle.

After, we headed to Schramberg intending to taste the champagne of the White House but it was closed for the evening. So, we drove on to the city of Castiloga. The downtown area has little shops, restaurants + wine bars. While walking along there, we stumbled upon these wish trees. Each tree had a different theme, and there were containers with tags + pens near the trunk of each tree for people to leave their wishes. We left one wish for us and one for Em.

After our stroll + a stop at Up Valley Vintners, we headed to Bouchon for a very yummy dinner.

We just added these sweet Valentine goodies to our shop. Enjoy!

This year, we enjoyed a cozy little Christmas at our house. Then, we celebrated Christmas again with my family over the New Year’s holiday weekend. Here are a few snap shots of Em opening a few of her presents. It was so fun to see her get excited + tear open her gifts!
