gingerbread girls

i stumbled upon these cute gingerbread cookies that alice made for her son’s birthday. too bad i found them after i told my family that we’re having a girl, because i think these would have been so cute to give as a way for them to find out the gender. oh, their cute pink tummies! you can find the recipe here.

bomboland

from the portfolio of italian artist maurizio santucci, i really like these book cover designs. he has quite an interesting collection of work. take a peek here.

gender announcements

how was your holiday weekend? ours was wonderful! as our families gathered around for christmas, we distributed these gender announcements that we designed + printed and got to watch their reactions. i’m so happy we waited to give them the news all together in person.

it’s official, we’re team pink! thanks to all who participated in the gender poll. it was really fun seeing the responses and guesses.

becoming nursery

here’s another nursery that is in my inspiration folder. i love the softness, freshness + airiness of the room. i seem to be drawn to white furniture in nurseries. however, since we’ll be able to use our existing guestroom dresser, nightstand + bookcase, our nursery will have dark wood furniture.

transparency

when i was looking for a picture for friday’s birthday post, i stumbled upon these transparency images from photographer stephen lenthall. i realize there’s now three back to back posts with balloons, but i just thought they were too lovely not to post!

happy friday!

today is kacey’s birthday, so we’re signing off a bit early + celebrating. have a great weekend!   |  photo via ffffound

irene suchocki

these beautiful prints from etsy seller irene suchocki just got added to my favorites list. i really love that she offers sizes larger than 8×10 and offers them on metallic paper, too.

jewelry holders

every time i put on a pair of earrings or put away a necklace i realize the need for a better way to organize my jewelry collection. i have a drawer dedicated to my jewelry, and inside i use ice cube trays to store my earrings. laughably, my necklaces are in plastic baggies to keep them from tangling except for those that i wear most often – those are draped over knobs of a jewelry box that resides on top of my chest of drawers. i definitely need a better solution.

from stands to holders that you can hang, i noticed urban outfitters has lots of nice options. the nautilus stand is my favorite i think, but that wouldn’t solve my necklace problem. maybe this ceramic bust would be the solution for those?

how do you store/display your jewelry?
