at your fingertips

Kacey’s brother introduced us to Ted a year or so ago. Ted stands for technology, entertainment, design. It started out in 1984 as an annual conference held in Monterey. At the conference, the world’s most fascinating and inspiring thinkers and doers come together to give an 18 minute talk. Ted showcases nearly 200 of these talks and performances. New ones are added each week, and you can watch them for free.

Thanks to Design Mom, this Ted video completely blew my mind yesterday.

I really love this Pantone Typeface. Such gorgeous use of color.  |  via Design Dust

euros

My sweet cousin sent Kacey and I a bon voyage card [no, we're not going just yet]. Inside were colorful Euros. What I found fascinating? The Euros are all different sizes based on denomination.

how conference

This year, the How Design Conference is going to be held in one of my favorite cities. Austin. It’s a really refreshing + inspiring conference. It’s great for networking, and I’m really considering attending.

The last How Design Conference I went to was years ago in New Orleans. I had just graduated from college and was eager to embrace design in the real word. Going to the workshops, hearing the speakers and meeting so many people in the design world was such an eye opening experience. And, since it was in New Orleans, it was way too close to pass up. I’m so happy I went, and every year I’d hoped to go back. It just never was feasible. But, Austin? Well that’s a hop skip and a jump away!

Oh, and How has a great guide to Austin for all the can’t misses of the city.

irish butter

I’m a huge, huge butter fan, and I snatched this Irish butter up when I spotted it at our local market this weekend. It’s quite delish!

Reading up on Paris, I’ve come across several mentions of how good French butter is. I can’t wait to slather some on a nice baguette! Soon. Real soon.

warm weekend weather

We finally got to tackle our flower bed this weekend. We sprinkled in new Petunias, Snapdragons, Impatients, Pansies and a Gardenia tree. Lots of work, but the weather was beyond perfect. Warm with a nice cooling breeze.

Hope you had a good weekend!

type reflection

I don’t know if it’s the new typewriter talking, but I’m loving these. They’re pocket mirrors!

double take

These paintings caught my eye today. Yes, paintings. Can you believe it? I did a double take. Or two.  |  via designworklife
