apps + case suggestions?

i finally joined all the cool kids and got an iphone. so, i thought i’d turn to you, lovely readers, to gather your suggestions for apps + iphone cases. i’ve already gotten a zagg shield [my husband loves his], but i also really need some sort of protective case. one that’s discreet and not too cumbersome. any ideas? do you have one you love?

    I bought a cover and screen cover for mine from eforcity.com. They were way cheaper than Apple stores and are good quality!

    As far as Apps go, I love Echofon (Twitter), Facebook, AllRecipes, AppBox Pro (has all sorts of neat tools for cheap), TextPlus (send texts for free using WiFi), and Wurdle. :)

    I’ve heard funny things about the I Am T-Pain app haha!

    My must-have apps are Facebook, Tweetdeck, and the NPR news app. Also, yelp is super helpful if you’re in an unfamiliar city.

    I’m looking forward to seeing which cases people recommend. I had one by iFrogz and the plastic slowly crumbled into pieces over time!

    I got the elago iPhone 3G/3GS Slim Fit Case and I love it! It doesn’t add any bulk to the phone, and it’s fab!

    get a screen protector against scratches. I put one of my own illustrations on my iphone as a sticker (I uploaded my design to skinit.com), and then I got a clear protective case from a NY street vendor. see my phone with my illustration sticker here: http://potatomammadesign.blogspot.com/2009/03/shes-alive.html

    I got a Moshi case but if you get one, DON’T get the white – it was permanently stained within a day and now looks like poo.
