Today, I’m very excited to share with you Em’s second birthday party invitations. Em loves coloring. She also loves to read. Harold and the Purple Crayon, one of our favorite books, combines both. So, we decided to throw an Emily and the Purple Crayon Party. Her invitations were sent out in a kraft box. We letterpress printed a wrap-around mailing label and used pretty purple stamps to complete the package.
Inside, an invite and a little white envelope were bound together with lilac and orchid twine. Using a white mini clothespin, her second birthday picture was attached to the twine and all the pieces were placed inside a purple crinkle paper filled box.
We letterpress printed the invitations in two colors – a beet purple, like the color Harold uses in the book, and a soft, pinkish purple which we used to mimic drawing on the invitations.
Along with the invitation, we included a washi taped envelope that contained two purple crayons. The invitation invited everyone over for cake + coloring.
So, there you have it. Em’s second birthday party invitations for her purple crayon party!
Beautiful as always!
Thanks, Kim!!
These are adorable! Where do you source your washi tape?
Thanks, Laurel! I ordered them from https://www.cutetape.com. I order several different purple colors so that I could mix and match for her invitations.
What a beautiful & fancy invitation! Love the purples!
Thanks, Cindy! I love a good purple palette :]
