Picked up some of these Donut Peaches at the market yesterday. Have you heard of them? I hadn’t. Apparently, they are also called Saturn Peaches. They’re super sweet, have a small pit and are only about in inch or so high. Em loved them!
Last night, Kacey and I went to the grand opening of Paloma’s Nest. I’ve been a fan of Caroline’s gorgeous work for a long time, so I’m thrilled that she now has a little boutique here in town.
Black and white striped paper lanterns greeted us at the entrance.
I loved her wooden name tags.
She offered these sweet Texas ornaments to all of the guests.
I wish I would have gotten a better shot of the structure they were all on. It was so pretty. Twisted limbs intertwined with crisp, white orchids.
The cakes + sweets by Polkadots were so divine looking that I grabbed a business card for future reference.
Congratulations, Caroline + good luck with your new adventure!
How was your Easter? Fun, I hope! We drove to Houston so that Em could hunt for Easter eggs with her cousins. I think she had a great time. We also took her to see the Easter bunny. The bunny didn’t go over as well as Santa, but we did get to snap a cute picture. All in all, a wonderful Easter weekend.
How was your weekend? Ours was pretty great. We actually had an extended weekend and spent some time at the Lake House. Kacey and his dad are building Em a little play kitchen for her first birthday. Can’t wait to see it all come together. Hoping we can get it done in time. Her birthday is in a little over two weeks!
So sorry I went missing last week. We took a trip to visit family and had pretty spotty internet. Originally, we were only going to go out of town for the weekend, but the opportunity to go for the full week presented itself, so off we went!
Saturday night, we celebrated Fat Tuesday a little early at a Mardi Gras ball. Man oh man, there was so much confetti + sparkle + beads everywhere! We had such a [much needed] fabulous time.
Oh, and above? A blurry + fun picture I took of the king of the ball we attended as he waved during his parade.
Happy Mardi Gras everyone!
The other day, I was visiting my cousin. She had just received a pretty invitation. I watched her open it. Instead of ripping it open from the top, she popped it open from the side.
I thought it was such a great trick. Afterward, you can tuck the side flap back inside.
This way, the envelope stays nice + intact for safekeeping.
