Let’s see. Where were we on our Pearl restoration journey? Oh yes. Back at the end of July, our new rollers had come in. Since then, we’ve found an original crank and found someone to fabricate the connecting rod. Those are the final pieces in converting our press from a motor operated press to one that’s powered by our foot. All that’s left for us to do is create feeder boards. We have the wood + stain. Now to find the time!
PS – The picture above was taken several months back when we were priming all of the press parts a nice ketchup color.
recent work // kyan’s invitations
Here’s a snippet of a sweet invitation we recently designed + letterpress printed for a little boy named Kyan in Singapore. They were for his 100th day celebration.
Letterpress printing is very different than offset printing. What works in the offset world does not always work in the letterpress world, and you have to design accordingly. For instance, printing a large solid color can have splotchy results due to the nature of letterpress printing.
For Kyan’s invitations, we created a tight cross-hatched blue pattern to give an interesting illusion of a solid background color. I really love the results.

A collection of blind impressed stationery we gifted my cousin last weekend. It was her birthday and she’s pretty special. So, we bundled a package of our merci cards + our bonjour cards along with personalized blind impressed cards we printed just for her. Quite often she writes thank you cards + little notes to say hello. Now she has these lovely note cards to write on.

the felted pear
I’m really tempted to get a few of these handmade felt play food toys for Em. They are seriously cute. She loves playing in her play kitchen so I think these would be a great addition. There’s lots of unique options like the asparagus. Plus I love the interactive ones, too. The corn on the cob can be removed from the husk. The avocado seed comes out. There’s so many great ones to chose from that I can’t decide!
