ornament tradition

since getting married, every year kacey and i share a holiday ornament tradition. we reminiscence about the events that took place over the past year and search for an ornament that reflects what we’ve experienced.

in 2009, we took a memorable trip to paris and experienced lots of change including finding out that we’re expecting. we chose this limited edition gilded leaf “christmas nest” ornament by paloma’s nest to depict our year. it’s a stretch, but we see symbolism in the leaves of the ornament. to us, they represent the leaves of our nest coming together, and the largest leaf reminds us of a bird which is symbolic of our flight/journey to paris. it took many months to find an ornament that encompassed our memories, but i love what we decided upon.

i’d love to hear about some of your special holiday traditions!

shoogi spark

i’m really, really liking the jewelry [and prices!] at shoogi spark. these pieces have stocking stuffer written all over them!

the butter flying

i was browsing etsy for baby mobiles and stumbled upon these cloud + rain mobiles from the butter flying. so sweet + puffy and i love the soft muted colors.

custom toppers

how cute are these hand sculpted and hand painted custom wedding cake toppers? so cute!

also, thanks so much for all the apps + case suggestions. i’ve got lots of fun new apps to try out, and i ordered this case. oh, and kacey may end up ordering this case since he’s in need of a new one. so again, thanks!

mini pouches

for a while now i’ve been thinking that i’d like to have something to hold my business cards in. i don’t like just throwing them into my purse or even my wallet. i’d like a little more protection. i think these mini pouches might be a cute option!

redecorated plates

such fun plates! the artist, nina, adds screenprinted images to vintage plates and completely rejuvenates, reinvents and revitalizes them.  |  via kirtsy
