4 years

On this day four years ago, as Trumpet Voluntary began playing and with my grandfather by my side, I walked slowly down the aisle. Happy tears streamed down my face as I met Kacey who awaited me at the end. It was a magnificent day full of emotion and exuberant celebration.

Four years later + a baby, and I love him even more today. I never dreamed that was possible. I’m beyond happy. I’m beyond blessed.

gypsy picnic

What a great weekend we had! Besides knocking out a ton of printing, we strapped Em to our back, got out of the house and checked out the new festival in town. It’s called the Gypsy Picnic, and it was a celebration of trailer food. There were so many people. And doggies. Sadly, we didn’t get to try out any food because the lines were pretty long + they were running out of food, but we enjoyed the music, great weather and walked down the riverside. Afterward, we grabbed some munches at Opal Divine’s and ate on the patio. Did I mention how glorious the weather was? Beautiful, perfect weather.

So, how was your weekend?

happy friday!

Seems like Friday sort of snuck up on me! So much to do this weekend. We’re going to take Em to a portrait studio to have her 6 [nearly 7!] month pictures taken. We’re heading to a family fest/open house at a day care/preschool that we’re considering. They are going to have pony rides. How fun! And, Sunday night we have our little Halloween party. Em is going to be a little lady bug!

What about you? Any fun plans? Halloween parties? Super cute costumes?

hello, october!

well, today is my birthday. i’ll be signing off a bit early to celebrate. i leave you with balloons. lots and lots of balloons and a wish for a happy friday. a happy weekend. a happy october!

welcome, september!

september is here and i’m excited about what it promises to bring. cooler temperatures. autumn. it’s the gateway to all of our celebrations [except for em's birthday]. soon, we’ll be celebrating my birthday. halloween [a halloween bash sounds fun!]. thanksgiving. our anniversary. kacey’s birthday. christmas. oh my!

one fun addition is having em with us experiencing these things for the first time. it’s my first birthday with her. it will be her first halloween. her first thanksgiving. our first anniversary with her in our lives. the first time kacey turns a year older as a father. her first christmas. i’m excited. we both are.

ps – aren’t these butterflies pretty? i found them frolicking in the green, green grass.

happy wednesday

hello there! hope you are having a good week. em and i are away visiting family, so as you’ve noticed, posting will be light this week. her baptism [and a little celebration to follow] will be this weekend, so we’re scooting around town getting everything ready for it. above is what she will be wearing [aka, the handmade gown + bonnet that i wore for my own christening as a baby].

when we get back, i’ll have lots of fun stuff to post. her baptismal invitations, her baby announcements + more!

glassversary // follow-up

the other day i was watching destination design on hgtv. the show sends the homeowners on vacation. the homeowners take pictures of things that they discover while away. then, the host uses those pictures as inspiration for their room which gets a makeover.

during the show i caught, the homeowners went to austin, texas, and one of their experiences was glassblowing. the glassblowing just so happened to be at the same place that i took kacey for our glassversary. that’s when i also realized that i never blogged about our glassblowing experience! so, i thought i’d share the pictures with you guys now.
