This past week, Kacey and I took a mini working vacation. We packed up our computers and headed to his parent’s lake house. In between designing + emailing, we enjoyed kayaking, jet skiing, swinging + relaxing out by the lake with his family. It was so wonderful!

A couple of months ago, an adorable little boy named Fitz turned one, and we were honored to work on his first birthday party invitations.
Instead of envelopes, we used kraft box mailers and designed two color letterpress wraparound mailing labels for them.
Inside the kraft colored crinkle paper filled boxes were two letterpress cards bound together with red + white striped twine.
The first card? A photo with his super cute first birthday picture affixed to a letterpress printed card featuring his name and a striped number one.
The second card was a two color letterpress printed card with all of the party details.
We hope you had a fabulous first birthday, Fitz!
It’s a shame we don’t have mail service directly at our home. If we did, I get this neat envelope mailbox for sure!
By the suggestion of her pediatrician, we painted Em’s nails to encourage her to keep her hands out of her mouth and stop biting her nails. I shopped around for a kid friendly polish. She loves her painted fingernails but like I figured, it’s not enough to deter her from biting them.
Any other suggestions?
This weekend we drove down to Houston to celebrate our niece’s 5th birthday. This year she wanted a “princess hula mermaid party” so they held her party at a little splash pad that was perfectly set up for kids. The entire pool was only 6 inches of water. There were little slides, waterfalls and whales + ships to climb. Em had a splashy blast!

Another custom house sketch moving announcement we recently completed for a client on the west coast. Congratulations Lisa + family on your gorgeous new home!
This weekend at the market, I spotted these mini eggplants. I’d never heard of them before, so I picked up a few to try. They are so tiny – only a couple of inches long!
For reference, the dish I put them in is the same dish I used for the donut peaches.
