Here’s one of the latest custom moving announcements we illustrated + letterpress printed. A gorgeous house nestled in lovely lush flora + foliage.

Congratulations on your beautiful new home F family!

If we’re friends on Facebook, then you saw that I just got a new phone [whoo hoo! :] Now, I’m on the hunt for a case that won’t cover up the lovely gold. Here’s what I narrowed it down to. A bumper, a clear case with hand painted flowers, a bumper with clear back and a mock case by the same company that my last case came from.

Do you have any other contenders I should add to my list?

Have you heard of this? Stitch Fix. It’s a stylish personal shopping service. A few friends use it and love it. You sign up, fill out your profile including your style, size, lifestyle and budget and they send you a box full of hand selected goodies based on your style profile. You have three days to try on everything, and you pay for only what you want to keep. There is a $20 styling fee which goes towards the purchase of anything you like in your box. It’s free shipping both ways. Oh, and your box not only contains clothes, but accessories, too! This definitely sounds like something I could use!

If you want to sign up, I’d love for you to use my referral links above! Thanks!

watercolors

watercolor1

We bought some new watercolors for Em today. She had been using a little kiddie set with a little cheap brush. We only had one brush and she wanted us to paint together as a family [aka at the same time]. Plus, she paints every single day. So after her dance class, we made a little pit stop at Jo-Ann’s. I didn’t intend to get watercolors too but these were so pretty! Bonus – a nice, new brush inside.

I also picked up a sketchbook filled with paper specifically for watercolors. We spent much of the afternoon watercoloring together.

Here’s the first one we completed. The colors are so vivid. Love.

austin // easy tiger + kung fu saloon

Friday evening, we ventured out to check off Easy Tiger from our Ultimate Austin List. I first discovered the bake shop + beer garden when their website design made the rounds online. Not a huge menu, but what we got was really good – smoked pastrami sandwich, baguette and butter, charred okra and pain au chocolat.

Afterwards, we had a little more time to pass otherwise we would have been caught in the heading-home-traffic that’s brutal in Austin. So, we went to Kung Fu Saloon.

Kung fu saloon? Fourteen vintage arcade games + a full bar.

My favorite are the vintage skee ball machines. And they are free!

How was your weekend?

j.crew maternity

jcrew maternity

I can hardly believe it! J.Crew is now offering maternity clothes! Back when I was eight months pregnant, my love for J.Crew really started. Being petite and pregnant, it was one of the few places that I could find clothes to fit. Back then I thought, wouldn’t it be great if they actually had a maternity line? Three years later, it’s here. Although it looks to be only pants now, I hope it’s going to bloom into a full line for baby bumps.

in the clouds

clouds

I was clearing out pics on my phone and came across a couple dozen beautiful cloud pictures that I took within the last week or so. I thought they were too pretty not to post!

This may seem a little strange. Especially for those of you who see clouds everyday. However, here in Austin, most days the skies are clear blue. Clouds are nearly as rare as the rain we get.

My favorite is the big rain cloud in the middle. What’s yours?

austin // la condesa + p. terry’s

We crossed off a couple of places from our Ultimate Austin List!

la condesa // austin, tx

First, we picked La Condesa to celebrate my cousin’s birthday. So very yummy.

p. terry's // austin, tx

Plus, P. Terry’s. Before moving to Austin, we actually went to their Barton Springs + South Lamar location. They recently opened a P. Terry’s in North Austin so we went to check it out. Good, cheap + quite possibly my favorite fries!
