baby

chambray baby journal

remember the baby book i ordered? well, i’ve been meaning to do a follow-up on it. i really like it. it’s simple and void of lots of cutesy cutesy. each page is just simple type on nice + thick textured ecru paper. it’s exactly what i was looking for.

side note – it comes with an inking kit for doing hand and foot prints. it’s nontoxic and for some reason i confused that with non-messy. funny, right? ink and babies equals a big mess! if you’re taking prints of your newborn, i highly recommend doing it with a naked baby [well, with diaper]. that way, no clothes are ruined. also, keep baby wipes + alcohol wipes nearby for a quick[er] cleanup.

petit collage

remember those cute clocks i posted about a while back? well, if you fancied those, you’ll love these wooden mobiles i spotted.

rae gun

i just bookmarked these diaper covers. as a ruffle lover, i think a ruffled bum is just beyond cute!

maternity photos

the week before miss e was born was a very, very busy week. we closed on our house, painted our guest room, nursery + office and moved into our new home. friday, in the midst of all the crazines, kacey and i paused for a few hours to take maternity pictures in soco with the über talented wendy of blue lily photography. here are a couple of my favorites from our fun shoot.

i was really on the fence about taking maternity pictures. i didn’t exactly love the way i looked while pregnant, especially near the end. however, i also didn’t want to regret not taking them. now, seeing the pictures, i’m so happy we took them and that we have this special time documented.

baby book // part 3

as you recall, i was on the search for a baby book. i decided to go with this one from pottery barn kids. i like that it has preprinted pages + photo pages and an envelope for keeping cards, notes and such. i also like that it comes with an inking kit for doing her little hand and footprints.

i just placed an order for it, so when it comes in i’ll let you know what i think!

nursery tour

miss emily arrived on a wednesday morning. the saturday prior we had just moved into our new home. needless to say, her nursery was not ready. kacey, my cousin and i spent the last two days setting it up in preparation for her newborn photos that we took this morning.

we’re really happy with how her nursery turned out, especially given how quickly we pulled it together!
